For blessing me with 3 days of work in my acting career and with one NEW personal training client.  Although I am a vegetarian, I was a happy camper in the taco joint yesterday shooting with two members of the New York Yankees.  Teheeeeee.  Good thing they didn't ask me to eat the food.

Someone asked me a great question that I decided to share my reply with all of you.

Q: What is the best way to start a plan, with a full body detox or..?
A: Not everyone will and need to do a full body detox but I like to start all my SMB Personal Fitness clients off as fresh as possible when battling the buldge. It is best to consult with a nutritionist or your doctor but from personal experience, for a successful detox, Slowly (over a 30 day period) wein yourself off in this order: all alcohol/ breads/pasta/sugars, oats and graines, red meats, chicken, fish until you are down to fruits and veggies only. Drink lots of water. No longer than 2 weeks of fruits and veggies only than gradually add the fish, chicken, whole graines back and only eat the processed foods occasionally. Some people can go cold turkey all at once but doing it slowly keeps it off and you no longer crave the foods that makes you sluggish and over weight. Enjoy
P.S. don't forget the workout routine. Keep it fun and keep it regular. Let me know how you do.

If someone would have told me years ago that I would turn 40 and still feel like I'm 20, I would have said, yes..you are right.  I took action towards my health long before my monsterous metabolism started to slow down.

Seeing the older women in my family struggle and tango with diets all their lives, I knew that I was headed straight for the same nonenchanting dance.  Oh sure, my first goal was to go from a size 14 slim to a size 7.  What was I thinking?  Oh yeah, I wanted my legs and hips to catch up with my butt to offset the onion affect.  A few years after accomplishing that goal, I was glad I'd joined the band, basketball and track team since the fourth grade to keep me active and fit.

It was the early detection of eating disorders and mental anquish I could have suffered that bless me with the active lifestyle I live today.  Fact of the matter is, because it's in your genes doesn't mean it has to be in your jeans.  Family lifestyle plays a lot in how you live and the body you live it in.  I may have my fathers bad eyes or my mothers knock knees but I don't have to live with high blood pressure or become diabetic.

Fortylicious, here I come.

Working out after forty does not mean slowing down or quitting.  For me it means kicking it up into 3rd gear because my slowed metabalism needs it.  It's Bootcamp, Power Yoga, Spinning and 10k runs in my list.  What's on your list?

People often ask me what I do for fun when I am not working.  When I am not teaching a bootcamp class or personal training.  When I am not learning lines from my newestscript, on stage performing in a play or cooking dinner for my family.

What about when I am not hanging out with my grand kids or texting my clients to do their fitness homework?  WHAT IN THE WORLD DO I DO??????

Occasionally I throw in a movie, a play date with a friend or out dancing, but for the most part, LOL,  I do all the things I do when I'm working because all those things ARE FUN FOR  ME

I DO WHAT I LOVE AND LOVE WHAT I DO AND THE PEOPLE I DO THEM WITH.

My, my, my.  Things in Florida has picked up in the commercial industry.  I was called for 4 auditons in the last week.  Although I was in Califonia at the time; due to the lack of work here, I rushed back in hopes of getting work on some of them, even IF it was only background.

You see, it has always been my dream to be an entertainer.  From a very early age I knew I wanted to be in the television box, I just did'nt know how to get in there.  For a while I thought those people inside were make believe and were not REAL PEOPLE.  Well, I' ve come to learn that they are REAL PEOPLE but REEL PEOPLE.

Anywho, bouncing back from coast to coast ain't nothing but a thing when you want something so bad.  I can't imagine NOT doing everything in one's power to accomplish their goals.  My mom says if you want something bad enough you better go get is cause it sure is hell not gonna come to you.

With that said, get out there and start knocking down doors.
